There are 3 solutions available for repairing damaged garage door panels. Our technicians will always explain the cost and benefits of each solution. If damage is as severe as the picture above, it is usually more cost efficient to replace the garage door. Options are listed below:
- A mildly damaged panel can be bent back in place, the door will operate safely but may not be aesthetically pleasing.
- A reinforcement strut can brace a bent, cracked, or torn panel. The strut will be installed across the length of the panel to reinforce the section. This forces the panel to remain level when the door is in the open position, which prevents the panel from bowing downwards. While the panel may still have visible damage to it, this repair allows the door to close and open as before, buying you time before it needs to be replaced. *If this occurs without an accident, it is a sign that the door is aging and becoming unable to support its own weight in the open position.
- Depending on the age of the door, we can replace individual panels. This includes replacing a closed top panel for a top panel with windows.
